The Buzău County Police, coordinated by prosecutors from the Buzău Tribunal Prosecutor's Office, carried out 29 searches on March 18 in Buzău, Bucharest, Ilfov, Prahova, Maramureș, and Vrancea, in a criminal case targeting fraud, computer forgery, and false declarations.
A 57-year-old man from Bucharest, a representative of several commercial companies, is suspected of having introduced false data into official applications to fictitiously employ individuals from various regions of the country. These individuals did not engage in real activity and did not receive salaries, but benefited from child-raising allowances, pensions, unemployment benefits, or bank loans. Authorities received declarations with false data regarding social contributions and taxes, and false documents certified employment status. The estimated damage amounts to approximately 1,500,000 lei, and the investigation continues to establish the full extent of the criminal activity and the necessary legal measures.
