Fourteen searches were conducted in Buzău County, including at the headquarters of the Driving Licence Service, in a case concerning possible acts of taking and giving bribes, influence peddling, and buying influence to obtain a driver's licence.
Investigators claim that some candidates allegedly offered between 600 and 1,000 euros to driving instructors or other intermediaries. The money was allegedly intended for interventions with examiners so that the candidates would pass the practical driving test.
The searches aim to gather evidence and clarify how the intermediation mechanism allegedly operated. The role of both the people who allegedly offered the money and those who allegedly claimed they could influence the examiners' decisions is being examined.
