DNA prosecutors are conducting searches at the headquarters of the Ilfov Public Community Service for Driving Licence and Vehicle Registration, as well as at the homes of people targeted in a corruption case. The investigation concerns suspicions that employees of the institution, including members of its management, and driving instructors may have helped candidates obtain their driving licences more quickly.
According to judicial sources cited by TVR Info, candidates may have paid approximately 500 euros for an earlier examination appointment. Prosecutors are also examining suspicions that driving licences were obtained in exchange for other sums of money.
Driving instructors may have acted as intermediaries between candidates and employees of the Ilfov Driving Licence Service. Judicial sources cited by Agerpres claim that the case also includes alleged bribery for vehicle registration and for the expedited issuance of driving licences.
The people targeted are due to be questioned at DNA headquarters during the day. As of this hour, the institution has not officially released information about the investigation or any measures ordered. The investigation is ongoing, and the allegations must be confirmed by evidence and decisions of the judicial authorities.
