Capital police conducted nine raids on Tuesday, October 20, in Bucharest and the counties of Ilfov and Dâmbovița, as part of a case concerning continued tax evasion. Investigators are targeting seven administrators of companies operating in the civil construction sector, suspected of recording and declaring fictitious expenses to avoid paying taxes and duties.
According to the investigation, the acts allegedly took place repeatedly between 2025 and 2026, based on the same criminal intent. The estimated damage caused to the state budget amounts to 4.5 million lei.
To gather evidence, officers from the Economic and Financial Crime Investigation Brigade also executed 17 summons warrants. Several people, both suspects and witnesses, were brought in for questioning. Items considered relevant to the investigation, including €50,000, were seized during the raids.
The investigation is being conducted under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Bucharest Tribunal. Legal measures against the persons concerned will be ordered depending on the outcome of the investigation.
