Police in Arad have opened a criminal case for tax evasion after a company and its administrator allegedly extracted mineral aggregates without a license or concession permit and sold them without issuing fiscal receipts. The activities under investigation allegedly took place between 2022 and 2025 at a gravel pit in the Feldioara area. The investigation is being conducted by officers from the Economic Crime Investigation Service, together with the case prosecutor from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Arad Tribunal. According to investigators, the company, managed by a person from Bihor County, allegedly extracted and sold ballast and graded aggregate as part of the same criminal activity. On September 4, 2026, 11 home search warrants were carried out in Arad and Bihor counties. Police searched the premises of companies, other gravel pits, and the homes of people targeted in the case. Following the searches, documents considered evidence for establishing the commercial activity and the damage were seized. The investigation continues under the prosecutor’s supervision to document the alleged offenses and order the necessary legal measures.
