President Nicușor Dan has promulgated a law that introduces strict integrity rules in public institutions, an important step in Romania's process of joining the OECD. The National Integrity Agency (ANI) has detailed these legislative novelties, which prohibit individuals employed in public positions from controlling or signing contracts with private entities they have worked for in the past year. Additionally, they cannot engage in professional activities that overlap with their previous responsibilities.
The law includes measures to prevent conflicts of interest, clear rules for post-employment influences, as well as obligations for public institutions to designate responsible persons for managing these declarations. ANI will provide specialized training and develop methodological guidelines to support the correct application of the law. The digitization of the declaration submission process through the eDAI platform will reduce bureaucracy and standardize their management. These measures are essential for strengthening institutional integrity and increasing public trust in the state.
