Less than 6% of employees in Romania work over 45 hours a week, whether they have a single job or multiple, which places our country at the bottom of the European ranking, alongside Latvia and Bulgaria. At the opposite end is Greece, followed by Cyprus and Malta.

According to Eurostat, only 6% of Romanian employees work over 45 hours a week, placing Romania among the last in the European Union, alongside Latvians and Bulgarians. In contrast, Greeks lead the ranking, with 20% of employees working beyond the standard 8 hours a day, partly due to the introduction of a six-day work week. Experts suggest that official statistics do not reflect the entire reality of overtime work, including undeclared work, which is not reported.
