An unusual incident occurred at a Lukoil gas station in Bacău, where a driver attempted to pay for a full tank with three buckets full of 1 ban coins, in protest against the rising fuel prices. He collected the coins for a month, "begging" for change from shops and from homeless people. The reaction of the gas station employees was to refuse, creating a tense situation that became a symbol of drivers' frustration over the rapid increase in fuel prices.

In recent weeks, prices have exceeded critical thresholds, with diesel reaching over 10 lei per liter, and gasoline at approximately 9.23 lei.

This situation has led to similar protests in other counties, where drivers have symbolically fueled with small amounts and organized marches to draw attention to the impact of price increases on family budgets. Price increases are influenced by international tensions and developments in the oil market, which have led to a rise in the price of crude oil.
