Traffic is blocked on DN 7, between Râmnicu Vâlcea and Sibiu, near the town of Călimănești, after a truck damaged a fuel pump while maneuvering. The incident caused major fuel leaks, and the authorities evacuated people within a radius of 200 meters.
Police officers, Vâlcea military firefighters, and a vehicle for chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear risks (CBRN) are responding at the scene. The gas station is located at the exit from Călimănești, in an area with heavy traffic.
The truck driver remained trapped in the cab, but was extricated by emergency response teams and transported to hospital conscious. Firefighters are carrying out operations to limit the risk caused by the fuel leak and to secure the area.
According to the Infotraffic Center, traffic is stopped on DN 7, and the authorities estimate that traffic could resume after 15:30. Police officers and emergency response teams continue their checks and safety measures.
