Firefighters are responding in Ciolpani to extricate two people trapped in a van after an accident involving a bus

A road accident involving a bus and a van occurred Monday on DN1, in the town of Ciolpani, Ilfov County. Two people were trapped in the van, and firefighters are working to extricate them.

According to the Bucharest-Ilfov Emergency Situations Inspectorate, the victims are conscious. When the first crews arrived, the two people were trapped in the van, requiring the intervention of rescue crews.

There were 37 people on the bus. They self-evacuated before the firefighters arrived and are being medically assessed at the scene. According to initial information, none of the people on the bus has reported medical complaints following the accident.

The response involves a water-and-foam firefighting vehicle, a rescue vehicle, the Special Rescue Detachment and four SMURD crews. A helicopter has also been requested.

Crews are continuing operations to extricate the victims and assess everyone involved. The circumstances of the accident will be established by the authorities.
