Andrei Nistor, the prefect of the Capital, stated that, after the completion of the criminal investigations and technical checks, the residents of the building affected by the explosion in Rahova can start to return to their homes beginning October 29, 2025. Access will be controlled by the Capital Police, according to a schedule established for each building. Staircase 2 of building 32 remains prohibited until the completion of the technical checks.


The explosion on October 17, 2025, resulted in the death of three people and injured another 20, of which 15 required medical care. Distrigaz Sud interrupted the gas supply for 1,086 customers, with the resumption of supply being carried out gradually. The prefect thanked the residents for their patience and cooperation during this difficult period.
