The Capital City Hall has completed the assessment of the apartment building in Rahova destroyed by the explosion

The technical assessment of the apartment building in Rahova affected by the explosion has been completed, and the resulting report, approximately 500 pages long, has been handed over to the site supervisor, Bucharest City Hall announces. The document will serve as the basis for work to secure the building.

Specialized teams inspected all 270 apartments in five stairwells adjacent to the one affected by the explosion. Specialists photographed any cracks and took measurements to identify structural deformations, using a device called a deformeter.

The municipality states that the next steps are to organize the construction site and begin the interventions necessary to secure the building. The work will be determined based on the conclusions of the technical report and the measurements taken in the inspected apartments.

The assessment was completed by September 9, the deadline previously announced by Bucharest City Hall. The inspections covered both the building directly affected by the explosion and the neighboring buildings, in order to identify any cracks, displacements, or other changes that could affect residents' safety.
