The organizations Declic, Funky Citizens, and Corruption Kills announced protests on December 14 in Bucharest and other major cities, demanding the reform of justice laws. These demonstrations were triggered by the airing of the documentary 'Captured Justice', produced by Recorder, which highlights the blocking of corruption cases and political influences on justice. The documentary includes testimonies from judges, such as Judge Laurențiu Beșu, who denounced abuses within the system. The initial protest took place on Tuesday evening in front of the CSM, being promoted on social media. Following the accusations in the documentary, the Bucharest Court of Appeal held a press conference, labeling some statements as 'defamatory'. Judge Raluca Moroșanu criticized the court's leadership, and over 800 judges and prosecutors expressed solidarity with those who denounced the abuses. Protests continued daily, with messages such as 'We want justice, not immunity' and 'Justice, not mafia', attracting a large number of participants.
