Employees of the Ministry of Investments and European Projects (MIPE) continued their protests on Monday, contesting the new salary law that could reduce the incomes of staff responsible for managing European funds. Union leaders, led by Carmen Maican, president of the 'MIPE Normality' Union, warn that the measures could lead to a massive exodus from the system.

The protests are taking place both in front of the MIPE headquarters in the Capital and in other regions, with messages highlighting the importance of European funds for Romania's budget. The salary law proposed by the Ministry of Labor provides for performance-based salary bonuses, but union members believe that this will affect the ability to attract funding. Protests will continue, and union members do not rule out the possibility of a general strike, with a Japanese-style strike announced for Tuesday, involving over 100,000 workers from the public sector.
