The CulturMedia Federation has issued a statement contesting the current form of the salary law project, considering that it does not correct the existing inequalities in museums, but rather maintains and deepens them.
Approximately 7,500 employees from Romania's museums are affected, and their professional and salary future is decided without consulting social partners. The Federation emphasizes the importance of the work of museum staff, including curators, researchers, and conservators, who are essential for the functioning of museums and the protection of cultural heritage.
In this context, the unions are demanding equalization of the salaries of specialized museum staff with those in performing arts institutions, an increase in coefficients for technical and auxiliary staff, the elimination of unjustified salary differences, and the resumption of negotiations with the participation of trade union organizations.
