The “Healthcare Solidarity” Federation of Romania warns that rejecting the draft pay law presented this summer could be interpreted as opposition to increasing incomes if, by January 1, 2027, a new law or a form of salary increase has not entered into force.
The conclusion was presented by the trade unionists as an informal one, following the debates on the rejected draft. In a post published on Facebook on Thursday, FSSR claims that the main argument of those who opposed the legislation was the promise of a better law.
Federation representatives state that, in the absence of a concrete initiative after taking over the government, the reasons for rejecting the draft would become clearer. A few days ago, FSSR called on the Government led by Luca Niculescu to draft the new law together with healthcare employees, based on the realities of the system and relevant data.
The trade unionists are calling for the correction of salary inequalities, clarification of the pay scales and allowances, and protection of the rights provided by law. They invoke the government program and statements by the Minister of Health, according to which incomes in the healthcare system should not decrease.
