The Government spokesperson, Ioana Dogioiu, confirmed that Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan met on September 23 with Fănel Bogoș, a businessman investigated by the DNA. Mediafax reported that Bogoș allegedly tried to influence the leadership of DSVSA Vaslui to promote the financial interests of his company, paying 1.5 million euros to the intermediary of the meeting.
Dogioiu mentioned that the meeting was requested by the leader of PNL Vaslui, Mihai Barbu, and lasted approximately 15 minutes, without legal consequences for Bogoș. The Prime Minister emphasized that he has no knowledge of any bribery and that such practices must be sanctioned. Fănel Bogoș is involved in a corruption case that includes accusations of influence peddling and bribery, being suspected of trying to change the director of DSVSA Vaslui after his company was sanctioned for selling infected products. Additionally, Mihai Barbu, the intermediary of the meeting, is also targeted by the DNA investigation.
