Ilie Bolojan explained to the mayors that Romania can no longer financially support all the contracts of the PNRR due to a massive over-contracting, which exceeds 20 billion euro. He said that many contracts will be terminated and those already signed will continue to be financed, but with a review of their status. The government has initiated an emergency ordinance to manage this serious fiscal situation and to halt projects that cannot be completed until 2026.
