The Prime Minister of Romania, Ilie Bolojan, stated that the "boulder of debts and credits" will affect any government, emphasizing that regardless of who takes over leadership, the country's financial problems will remain. Bolojan stressed that it is essential to address these issues seriously, considering that solutions require courage and determination, even if they may disturb the political clientele. He stated that if Romania does not take appropriate measures, the situation will worsen by the end of 2026.
Additionally, the Prime Minister criticized the idea of making political agreements for privileges, emphasizing that he will not accept compromises that do not bring real benefits. Bolojan made these statements in the context of the rejection of the special pensions reform by the Constitutional Court, mentioning that he would be open to a change of government, suggesting that the PSD should submit a motion to form a new executive.
