Alert in Argeș: Pollution with fuel and oil on Lake Vidraru

The Prefect of Argeș County, Ioana Făcăleață, convened the County Committee for Emergency Situations (CJSU) on Thursday evening following a pollution reported in the Vidraru reservoir. During the meeting, measures were taken to isolate and neutralize the pollution, as well as to prevent its spread downstream of the dam. Făcăleață emphasized the importance of ensuring water supply in the municipality of Curtea de Argeș and the surrounding communes, without being affected by pollution. The local operator, Aquaterm SA, will monitor water quality and inform the population. Various institutions, including the Environmental Guard and the Public Health Directorate, have been involved in monitoring the situation, and interventions for isolation have already begun, continuing until the risks to the environment and public health are eliminated.
