The European Socialists Party (PES) sent a message of congratulations to PSD on Monday, highlighting the favorable results obtained in the partial local elections, where PSD won 12 out of 14 competitions. PES emphasized that these results reflect the trust of voters in the party's constant efforts at both local and national levels, including in Buzău County, where Marcel Ciolacu secured a clear mandate.

Although PSD had solid results, PES mentioned that there is still much to be achieved and that a strengthened dialogue is necessary. However, PSD lost the elections in Bucharest, where the PNL candidate, Ciprian Ciucu, won, and the PSD candidate, Daniel Băluță, came in third, a result considered by PSD president, Sorin Grindeanu, to be a defeat.
