OMV Petrom, the largest energy producer in Southeast Europe, has completed an investment of 20 million euros at the Petrobrazi refinery, dedicated to modernizing wastewater treatment systems.
Radu Căprău, a member of the OMV Petrom Directorate, emphasized the company's commitment to reducing environmental impact and increasing operational efficiency through modern technologies. The project included covering existing basins and installing advanced systems for capturing and treating gases from wastewater, which undergo a complex cleaning process. This investment is part of an extensive modernization program, within which OMV Petrom has invested over 2 billion euros since 2005, aiming to improve energy efficiency and transition to low-carbon fuels. The company is currently running a major project of 750 million euros for the construction of a sustainable fuel production unit, which will also include green hydrogen.
