Before the commissioning of the new solar parks, OMV Petrom announced the modernization of the electrical infrastructure at the Petrobrazi Refinery, with an investment of approximately 115 million euros. The project included the construction of a high-voltage power line connected to Transelectrica, a new electrical substation and a distribution substation, using Blue GIS technology, while a 7 MW photovoltaic park was under construction within the refinery premises.
At the same time, the company stated in investment reports that, by then, it had already allocated 5.4 billion euros from the 11-billion-euro plan through 2030 and had estimates for the delivery of the first gas from the Neptun Deep project in the first half of 2027. Alongside its projects in the gas and refining sectors, OMV Petrom indicated clear directions toward renewables (over 1.3 GW of capacity) and storage (over 0.3 GW), as well as the development of the facility for sustainable SAF/HVO fuels, scheduled for completion in 2028.
