On November 5, 2025, a driver from Timișoara was caught in the act while offering 5,000 lei to a police officer to obtain the return of his driving license, which had been confiscated after he was caught driving under the influence of alcohol. The incident took place on November 3, when a police officer stopped the driver's vehicle on Calea Șagului, where he was driving at excessive speed.

The breathalyzer test showed a concentration of 0.63 mg/l of pure alcohol in the exhaled air, resulting in a criminal case. In an attempt to escape the consequences, the driver offered a bribe to the police officer, who refused and reported the incident. The authorities organized a sting operation, and the driver was detained for 24 hours, being investigated for bribery, under the coordination of the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Timiș Tribunal, which continues the investigations.
