A 41-year-old man was caught by police traveling at 207 km/h on DN 59/E70, between the localities of Voiteg and Jebel, Timiș County. The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon, at around 4:44 p.m., on a stretch of road where the legal speed limit is 70 km/h.

The vehicle was recorded by the radar equipment of traffic police officers from Deta, and the driver was stopped for inspection. The recorded speed exceeded the legal limit by 137 km/h.

For the violation, the driver was fined 4,325 lei under Emergency Ordinance 195/2002 on traffic on public roads. Police also suspended his driving license for 120 days.

The Timiș County Police Inspectorate recommends that drivers observe speed limits and adopt a defensive approach behind the wheel. Police warn that excessive speed poses a major danger to road safety and can have serious consequences.
