On Soveja Street in the municipality of Constanța, a 66-year-old man caused a traffic accident by hitting another moving car. After the impact, the driver continued to drive erratically, changing lanes without caution. Two police officers, husband and wife, who were off duty, witnessed the incident and intervened to stop him. When tested with a breathalyzer, the man had a concentration of 0.65 mg/l of pure alcohol in his exhaled air. He was later taken to the hospital for biological sample collection to determine his blood alcohol level. The Constanța County Police Inspectorate has opened a criminal case for driving under the influence of alcohol, emphasizing the importance of the police intervention in preventing possible serious accidents.
