A 58-year-old bus driver was detained for 24 hours after causing a road accident on a street in the municipality of Suceava on Tuesday evening. The man was driving a bus operated by the local public transport company and was under the influence of alcohol.

According to police, the bus hit several parked cars and an electricity pole. Following a breathalyzer test, the driver registered a concentration of 1.18 mg/l of pure alcohol in his exhaled breath.

Police ordered his detention for 24 hours. Investigations are continuing to establish all the circumstances in which the accident occurred and to determine the legal measures to be taken. The incident highlights once again the risks of driving public transport vehicles after consuming alcohol, particularly in a city, where such a vehicle can cause significant damage in a short time.
