Nicușor Dan delivered a message at the Royal Centennial of the Maryhill Museum, a symbol of the cultural connection between Romania and the USA

President Nicusor Dan delivered a message on the occasion of the Royal Centenary celebrated at the Maryhill Museum of Art in the United States, highlighting the institution’s role in preserving Romanian heritage and strengthening Romanian-American cultural relations. The message was presented by Eugen Tomac, honorary adviser on relations with Romanians abroad, according to the Presidential Administration.

The head of state said the anniversary marks not only an important moment in the museum’s history, but also a bond built between Romania and the United States through culture, heritage, and mutual respect. The museum has contributed to promoting Romanian culture through its collections and exhibitions dedicated to Romania and Queen Marie.

Nicusor Dan described the Maryhill Museum of Art as a “cultural bridge” between the two countries, strengthened through art, shared history, dialogue, and cooperation. He also mentioned the institution’s being awarded the Order of “Cultural Merit” at the rank of Knight, for its contribution to protecting and promoting Romanian heritage.

On the 100th anniversary of the museum’s inauguration by Queen Marie, the president highlighted the shared values and trust underpinning the relationship between Romania and the United States, as well as culture’s lasting role in bringing the two societies closer together.
