At the ministerial meeting in Brussels, Mark Rutte, the NATO Secretary General, noted a "change in mindset" among the leaders of the Alliance, emphasizing that Europe is taking on a stronger role in defense. Rutte called for increased support for Ukraine and warned member states not to fall into the "trap of Russian propaganda," mentioning that Russia is suffering significant losses on the front.

He noted that since the summit in The Hague, there has been a clear convergence of vision and unity within NATO, with Europe taking on a more pronounced leadership role. Rutte mocked the perception of Russian strength, comparing Moscow's advance in Ukraine to the speed of a garden snail, emphasizing the need not to underestimate the challenges posed by Russia.
