Claudiu Năsui, USR deputy, launched severe accusations against the governing coalition after his legislative proposals for Romanian access to funds from Pillars II and III of pensions were rejected in Parliament. Năsui described the actions of the parliamentary majority as a "fraud" against those who voluntarily contributed to these funds. He claims that the state is violating contractual commitments by changing the rules at the moment when taxpayers could access their accumulated savings.
Năsui warned that 70% of the amounts from Pillar III will be used to lend to the Romanian state, which would lead to losses for taxpayers. Only UDMR and AUR supported his amendments, while the parties in the governing coalition rejected them, considering the measures as an optimization of the funds' returns. The opposition criticizes these measures, viewing them as a form of disguised nationalization.
