The National Recovery and Resilience Plan is becoming a new political battleground in Bucharest, with AUR adopting a radical position against the unified salary reform for public employees. George Simion, the leader of AUR, stated that he prefers budget losses over a law he considers wrong, arguing that its harmful effects could reach 8 billion euros.

While the government warns about the economic risks related to failing to meet European objectives, dissatisfaction in the public sector is growing, with medical staff and judges protesting against the new salary scales.

Dismissed Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan emphasizes the importance of adopting the reform to avoid blocking access to 3.5 billion euros in European funds. AUR's response suggests that consensus in Parliament on this issue remains far from being achieved.
