Ciprian Șerban, former Minister of Transport, made serious accusations against the political class after the Chamber of Deputies rejected the bill submitted by PSD for granting severance pay to CFR Marfă employees.
This decision directly affects over 1500 employees who have not received their financial rights since May, leaving them without financial support during the company's restructuring. Șerban denounced the "political collusion" between PNL, USR, and other parties, stating that the deputies of these parties did not take into account the needs of the people, treating social issues as mere numbers.
The project would have ensured a financial safety net for the laid-off staff during the transition to the new company, Carpatica Feroviar.
The voting result showed that PSD had 82 votes in favor, while PNL and USR voted against, and AUR refused to participate in the vote. Șerban emphasized that the lack of 13 votes prevented the adoption of the legislative initiative, accusing PNL, USR, and AUR of betrayal towards the employees in the railway sector.
