Siegfried Mureșan on the government program: the ideas came from experts, while technology was used for drafting

Prime Minister-designate Siegfried Mureșan said on Saturday, after submitting the government program and the list of proposed ministers to Parliament, that the measures in the document were developed by people, not generated by artificial intelligence. He explained that technology was used for the technical drafting, formatting and structuring of the program.

Mureșan said the ideas were formulated together with experts from the National Liberal Party (PNL), Save Romania Union (USR) and Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania (UDMR), the parties supporting the Cabinet, as well as following consultations with representatives of the administration, parliamentary groups, civil society, farmers, entrepreneurs, trade unions and employers’ associations. The program had previously been approved by the three formations.

The document includes measures concerning taxation, administrative reform, pensions, energy, the digitalization of public services and the use of artificial intelligence in the administration, while respecting data protection.

The proposed Cabinet includes 16 ministries and three deputy prime ministers, each with a ministerial portfolio. The ministers will next be heard by the specialized parliamentary committees, a stage Mureșan proposed should take place on Monday and Tuesday.
