Government spokesman Daniel Voda announced that the compensation for electricity will continue until the end of the year, covering the first 110 kWh consumed by each household. ANRE has also approved a reduction in tariffs, so that consumers in the north will pay 4 lei/kWh, and those in the center and south 3.59 lei/kWh. The lower prices are due to cheaper energy purchases by Energocom and an increase in renewable energy. The compensations are part of the European Union's financial support package.
