The Minister of Environment, Diana Buzoianu, stated that the Romanian Waters are in a state of collapse, marked by politicization and lack of effective control. With only 130 inspectors in the field out of nearly 9,000 employees, Buzoianu emphasizes the urgent need for reform. She criticized the way directors are appointed for short periods and mentioned that the control activity is severely affected. Buzoianu sent the Control Body to assess the situation and highlighted issues related to beach management and excessive spending from the national budget.
