A 58-year-old man was injured at a shooting range in Brașov after an explosive device accidentally detonated

A 58-year-old man, an employee of a specialized company, was injured on November 5 at a shooting range near the town of Sânpetru, Brașov County, after an explosive device he was handling accidentally ignited during preparations for testing. The incident was classified as a workplace accident.

Police officers from the Feldioara Rural Police Section were notified of the incident and began checks to establish all the circumstances.

Teams from the Feldioara Rural Police Section, the Forensics Service and the Weapons, Explosives and Dangerous Substances Service went to the scene. Investigators are examining how the explosive system was handled and whether occupational health and safety procedures were followed.

A criminal case was opened for negligent bodily injury, failure to take the legally required occupational health and safety measures, and failure to comply with those measures. Once the investigation is completed, the authorities will take the appropriate legal measures.
