The Maramureș Tribunal has decided that a man, Suci Dănuț, must pay 50,000 lei to Vasile Vlașin after he insulted and threatened him in comments on Facebook. The conflict began after Vlașin posted a comment regarding Călin Georgescu, and Dănuț reacted with insults and serious threats. Vlașin filed a complaint with the police and obtained a protection order. The court found the illicit nature of Dănuț's comments and ordered him to publish the ruling in a local newspaper and on his Facebook page. Vlașin stated that the lawsuit was initiated to set an example and hopes that such abusive behaviors in the online environment will be reduced.
