A man has been indicted for public incitement after allegedly publishing a message on Facebook urging people to commit crimes against judges and prosecutors in Romania. The case was referred to the Mediaș District Court, which will examine it at first instance.
According to the indictment prepared by the prosecutor in charge from the Criminal Investigation Section of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice, the message was allegedly published in August 2025 from an account accessible to the public and registered in the defendant’s name.
Investigators claim that the post urged readers to commit acts including murder, aggravated murder and judicial outrage against Romanian magistrates. In the message, the author allegedly used violent language and called for judges and prosecutors to be “raised on pitchforks.”
Prosecutors consider that the post meets the constituent elements of the offense of public incitement. The indictment marks the completion of the criminal investigation, but the allegations will be examined by the court, and the defendant benefits from the presumption of innocence.
