A man from Brașov assaulted his family live on TikTok and was placed in preventive detention

A 42-year-old man from Cincu, Brașov County, was placed in preventive detention after allegedly assaulting his pregnant partner and their three children in an incident partially broadcast live on TikTok. The alleged acts took place on November 4, 2026, at around 5 p.m., at the family home, while the man was under the influence of alcohol.

According to prosecutors from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Brașov Tribunal, he allegedly hit the 30-year-old woman with his palms and fists in the abdominal area and pulled her hair. He also allegedly threatened her with a machete made of iron, which he allegedly held to her neck.

Later, the man allegedly hit his 14-year-old daughter, while he lifted his two sons, aged 8 and 9, off the ground, threw them onto a bed and hit them. The children suffered injuries requiring six to seven days of medical care.

Several users who saw the broadcast called 112. The man was detained and later placed in preventive detention by the Brașov District Court. He is being investigated for four offenses of domestic violence, threats, and disturbing public order and peace. The alleged acts are under investigation, and the defendant benefits from the presumption of innocence.
