A 41-year-old man assaulted his partner at the family home, then left with their one-year-old daughter. The incident occurred after a verbal conflict that broke out in the morning escalated into physical violence.
According to police, the man hit his partner before leaving the home with the child. A neighbor witnessed the assault, intervened to help the woman and called 112. Police immediately began searching to identify the man and find the girl.
The two were later located in a field in the area. Officers took the child into their care and, according to initial checks, she was not injured. The man was taken in for questioning, while the girl's mother was transported to hospital for medical treatment.
Following the incident, police issued a provisional protection order.
