A man from Arad has been placed in preventive custody for assaulting his wife, fueled by jealousy and alcohol consumption, in front of their 10-year-old child.

A 30-year-old man from Arad County was placed in preventive arrest after allegedly assaulting his wife in the presence of their 10-year-old child. The incident took place in the commune of Vinga, against a backdrop of jealousy and alcohol consumption.

According to prosecutors, the man pulled her hair, hit her in the head, and burned her leg with a cigar. The victim required up to nine days of medical care due to the injuries sustained. The Arad Court decided to place the defendant in preventive arrest for 30 days. The mayor of the commune of Vinga, Ioan Negrei, mentioned that the family had recently moved to the locality and was not known to have issues with domestic violence.

This case comes after another similar incident in Arad County, where a security guard was sent to trial for severe assaults on his girlfriend.
