Kelemen Hunor, the president of UDMR, expressed dissatisfaction regarding the fact that the EU-MERCOSUR trade agreement was not discussed in the governing coalition, deeming this situation unacceptable. He emphasized that, although he is in favor of such an agreement, it would have been better to wait until February-March to analyze all aspects, especially those related to agriculture. Hunor mentioned that in the last six months, the Minister of Foreign Affairs did not participate in coalition discussions, which generated frustration. He also commented that the attacks against Minister Oana Țoiu, accused of betrayal for her vote, are unjustified, emphasizing that politics is the responsibility of the elected officials. In the end, he stated that, despite existing grievances, the coalition will continue to function. The EU-MERCOSUR agreement, which aims to eliminate customs duties for 90% of bilateral trade, was recently approved by EU states.
