Representatives of the magistrates argue that a reasonable percentage for their pensions would be 65% of the gross salary, which would provide higher income than the Government's proposal, which stipulates 70% of the net income and a transition period of 10 years. The Vice President of the CSM, Claudiu Sandu, stated that it is essential for any pension law to apply to all magistrates, including those already retired. Sandu emphasized the importance of respecting the European standard, which stipulates that pensions should be close to the last salary. He also requested a transition period of 15-20 years to allow for real reform in justice. Discussions with President Nicușor Dan and the leaders of the Coalition are scheduled to address these demands and unlock the situation. Kelemen Hunor mentioned that there have been moments when the political class has yielded to pressures regarding the pensions of magistrates.
