An Albanian wanted internationally for murder was caught in Calafat, presenting a false identity.

An Albanian man, 48 years old, was caught by the police from the Territorial Service of the Border Police Dolj near the Calafat-Vidin toll station.

He was wanted internationally and had a European arrest warrant issued against him for premeditated murder, illegal possession of weapons, production and sale of narcotic substances, as well as for forming an organized criminal group. The individual attempted to escape from the authorities by presenting a false identity.

Following the investigations, the police discovered that he was involved in the murder of an Albanian compatriot and that, within the criminal group, 9 firearms and 130 kilograms of drugs were seized. The Albanian was taken to the IPJ Dolj detention center for further investigations.
