A 22-year-old Romanian man wanted by the Danish judicial authorities for committing murder was found on September 9 in the town of Ciobanu, Constanța County. A European arrest warrant had been issued in his name.
Police officers from the Constanța County Police Inspectorate identified him and escorted him to the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Constanța Court of Appeal. The case prosecutor ordered his detention for 24 hours, and the young man was placed in the custody of the Constanța County Police Inspectorate.
In the coming period, he is due to be brought before the court, which will decide on the necessary measures in the surrender procedure. Subsequently, if the legal conditions are met, the young man will be taken over by the Danish authorities.
The case is being handled under the European arrest warrant issued by Denmark. So far, the police have not provided details about the murder for which the man is wanted or the circumstances in which he may have been involved.
