Border police detained at Albița a man internationally wanted by the Lithuanian authorities for terrorism-related activities

A 66-year-old man holding Romanian and Moldovan dual citizenship was identified and detained on Thursday evening at the Albița Border Crossing Point in Vaslui County. He was internationally wanted by the Lithuanian authorities, who are investigating him for carrying out terrorism-related activities.

The man was traveling as a passenger on a coach. During border checks, police found that, as of September 17, 2026, an alert had been issued in his name concerning the enforcement of an arrest warrant issued by the Lithuanian authorities.

Representatives of the Iași Territorial Border Police Inspectorate said that the wanted individual was handed over to an operational team from the Vaslui County Police Inspectorate.
