On the morning of May 19, George Simion was photographed at Henri Coandă Airport with Vasile Pușcaș, a businessman who supported him during his electoral campaign. Simion lost the presidential election to Nicușor Dan the night before. Although AUR did not give details of his destination, AUR senators' leader Petrișor Peiu suggested that Simion might travel to Warsaw to support the campaign of his ally Karol Nawrocki. Pușcaș, known for his business in the sanitation sector, supported Simion in the election campaign.
