George Simion, after Călin Georgescu thanked him for his integrity: “I didn’t particularly like it”

In a phone intervention on Digi24, George Simion commented on the message of thanks that Călin Georgescu addressed to him upon leaving Monday’s hearing at the Bucharest Court of Appeal. Although he stated that he supports the former candidate in the 2024 presidential election, the AUR leader said that he did not particularly like Georgescu’s statement.

Regarding his message of thanks, Simion stated: “I did not particularly like it. I am the only political figure who has remained consistent on the issue of annulling the elections; the others have given in at times.”

Asked on Digi24 whether he was distancing himself from Călin Georgescu in the context of the statements he has made, the AUR leader explained: “We support Călin Georgescu not because of statements that he has made. He won the election at that time.”
