On Sunday afternoon, several households in the Serbănești commune, Olt County, were flooded following heavy rains that lasted several tens of minutes, in the context of a yellow warning for abundant precipitation. The spokesperson for the Olt Emergency Situations Inspectorate (ISU), Alin Băsășteanu, stated that the floods were caused by rapid water accumulation in small watercourses, tributaries of the river that crosses the commune, which overflowed. The firefighters from the Slatina Detachment intervened with two water pumps, including one of high capacity, to evacuate water from the affected households. According to preliminary data, seven yards and four homes were affected, and the intervention mission is ongoing. In recent days, Olt County has been under the incidence of several immediate precipitation warnings.
