The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) has announced that a heatwave will affect most of Romania from August 20, 10:00 AM to August 24, 10:00 AM.
Maximum temperatures will range between 33 and 40 degrees Celsius, with the highest values forecasted in the west and southwest of the country.
The temperature-humidity index (THI) will exceed the critical threshold of 80 units, generating significant thermal discomfort.
ANM has issued an orange heat warning for Banat, Crișana, Oltenia, the southwest of Muntenia, and the southwest of Transylvania, where temperatures will reach 35-39 degrees.
Additionally, a yellow warning is in effect for Moldova, Maramureș, Transylvania, and Muntenia, with maximums of 34-37 degrees.
The heat will expand and intensify, and nights will be tropical, with minimum temperatures between 20 and 26 degrees.

Starting from August 21, 10:00 AM, the Orange Code for extremely high temperatures, heat, significant thermal discomfort, and tropical nights will extend almost throughout the country, covering areas of Banat, Crișana, Maramureș, Transylvania, Oltenia, the northern half of Moldova, and the southwest of Muntenia.
